a credit union conference full of people watching a stage

Here’s a Look at the Top 5 Credit Union Conferences to Close Out 2022

As summer winds down and we look ahead to Q4, there is still an incredible amount of value that credit union professionals can gain by attending the CU conferences being held the rest of the year.

Brianna Vaughan, AVANA CUSO’s EVP Operations, points out how inspiring and worthwhile these professional development events can be, stating, “Credit Union employees can really gain a lot from attending major credit union conferences. They provide an invaluable experience to learn up-and-coming trends in the industry, hear from keynote speakers and network with other credit union professionals across the country. It’s really hard to replicate the energy of these events anywhere else.”

Here are some of our top picks in terms of credit union conferences being held the rest of 2022.

ACUMA Conference

The upcoming ACUMA Conference will be held in Las Vegas, NV, at the Cosmopolitan Hotel September 18-21.

At the conference, attendees will learn strategies they can utilize as credit union mortgage lenders to strengthen their skills and build their competitive edge. Some of the professional development topics covered in the event’s workshops include leadership, financial management, sales growth, compliance and technology.

CUES Supervisory Committee Development Seminar

CUES will be holding their Supervisory Committee Development Seminar September 19-20 in Santa Barbara, CA.

This event will help credit union professionals assess how supervisory committee actions impact their credit union. Plus, the event will walk attendees through a deep-dive into audits.

NAFCU Management and Leadership Institute

The National Association of Federally-Insured Credit Unions is hosting their Management and Leadership Institute on October 17-21 in Annapolis, MD, for credit union professionals.

The five-day intensive program is designed to help credit union employees advance their skills as a leader in the industry and prepare for their future. The institute includes training from top experts and CEOs in the industry, plus hands-on practice through case studies.

Filene Research Institute’s big.bright.minds.

On October 25-26, The Filene Research Institute is hosting its big.bright.minds. hybrid event in Denver, CO, and online.

This is one of the major CU conferences being held this year, where they will cover the year’s industry research, giving insights into what the future holds for credit unions. Plus, they will discuss how CU leaders can see through uncertainty and find opportunity in the risk. All six of Filene’s Fellows will be present at the event in addition to other industry leaders.

Another one of the top credit union conferences taking place in 2022 is the DEI & ACCESS Summit hosted by the National Credit Union Association on November 2-4. It will be a hybrid event that takes place online and in-person, full of professional development and learning opportunities.

Further details and registration are coming soon, though credit union professionals are slated to learn about diversity, equity and inclusion in the industry.
