Candace Sheets serves as Senior Vice President of Credit at AVANA Companies, bringing more than 26 years of experience in commercial and residential lending. She specializes in complex credit structuring, SBA 7(a)/504 lending, and comprehensive risk assessment across diverse asset classes.

Candace brings deep expertise in underwriting and structuring complex commercial credits across diverse industries, including hospitality, retail, multifamily, assisted living, and mixed-use properties. Her disciplined credit approach balances thoughtful risk assessment with strategic growth objectives.
She began her career at Imperial Bank (now Comerica), where she helped establish the SBA Lending Division and secure Preferred Lender Program (PLP) status. She also played a key role in launching the Conventional Correspondent Lending program, which generated more than $1 billion in loan volume between 1999 and 2005. Throughout her career, she has led underwriting and loan processing teams, developed credit procedures, and maintained the highest individual approval authority levels at major institutions, including Umpqua Bank and Bank of America.
Education and Experience
Candace’s leadership experience spans credit policy development, department management, and large-scale loan production oversight. She has hired, trained, and supervised underwriting and loan administration teams while maintaining rigorous credit standards within institutional banking environments.
She earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from San Diego State University, building the foundation for a distinguished career in commercial credit and structured finance.
