Joy Hekking
As Vice President of Servicing at AVANA Capital, Joy Hekking oversees borrower servicing operations and leads the day-to-day management of loan administration and reporting. With more than two decades of experience in financial services, she brings deep expertise in SBA and commercial lending operations.

Joy leads AVANA’s servicing platform with a strong emphasis on operational excellence and borrower experience. She ensures accurate and timely payment processing, regulatory reporting, loan accounting integrity, and proactive communication across the servicing lifecycle. Her leadership helps safeguard compliance standards while creating a seamless experience for both borrowers and internal stakeholders.
Throughout her career, Joy has remained committed to service — both external and internal. She believes that strong servicing is foundational to successful lending relationships and sustainable growth. By fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and responsiveness, she supports AVANA’s broader mission of helping small businesses access and maintain the capital they need to thrive.
Education and Experience
Prior to joining AVANA, Joy held a senior servicing role at a Credit Union Service Organization (CUSO), where she supported SBA and commercial lending programs for more than 50 credit unions nationwide. She oversaw all aspects of loan servicing operations and ensured timely SBA and USDA reporting compliance across multiple institutions.
Joy began her banking career at a local credit union, where she spent more than 18 years advancing from teller to branch management. During that time, she became a top-producing SBA loan officer, strengthening her expertise in commercial and government-backed lending. She pursued Sociology studies at the University of Utah and has completed extensive customer service and management training. Passionate about supporting entrepreneurs, Joy remains dedicated to helping small businesses succeed.
