Urjit Patel has more than 30 years of experience in the financial services industry He joined Education First FCU in 2021 as their Chief Operating Officer and became the President and Chief Executive Officer in 2024. As CEO of the fourth largest credit union in Southeast Texas, he is responsible for all aspects of leading an organization with nearly 33,000 members and $600 million in assets. Urjit’s core areas of focus include strategy development and sustainable growth, overseeing daily operational activities, and fostering the Credit Union’s culture of excellence.

Prior to EFFCU, Urjit most recently served as Executive Vice President at Axiom Bank, N.A. leading large teams of people across product, marketing, and operations for the Bank in Florida.

Urjit holds a Bachelor of Science degree in MIS from University of Central Florida and other lending and operational diplomas from American Bankers Association. He attends various speaking engagements to help educate others and shape the future of Credit Unions. Beyond the office, Urjit is dedicated to giving back to his community, volunteering in various local community organizations.
